Art Brokerage: Sculptor Laurie Smith found the Laguna Beach School of Art in 1980 and was introduced to live model sculpting. Initially it was a hobby and escape from family responsibilities. She found colleges with classes and workshops that provided models and instructions in the essential techniques that enabled her to discover the dramatic effect of completing sculptures in bronze. A few years ago she prepared a body of work and began exhibiting in the western states. Today her life and passion allows for complete immersion in her art. Her representational works in bas-reliefs and three dimension use the figure or it's parts, as a metaphor, reflecting a broad spectrum of human experience. She has works in 12 states and Europe & India. Laurie has been commissioned by many to produce personal bronze-reliefs, preserving their family memories.
