ROBERT E. MOORE BIOGRAFIE
 
Robert E. Moore, 1956-2003, he was born in Pulman, Washington on September 14, 1956. He attended Fort Wright College on an academic scholarship where he majored in art. Looking for traditional disciplines and techniques in painting, he left for New York and independent study. While in New York, Moore received a summer painting grant to paint in Woodstock, New York and it was during this summer that he met and became a pupil of the noted Boston painter R.H. Ives Gammell. Robert E. Moore was Gammell's last student and studied with him for four years. His work consists primarily of portraits, still life and landscapes, many of which depict local Boston scenes. Moore's paintings are in Numerous private and public collections and he is the recipient of many prestigious awards.
